Abstract

Transfer device for positioning casting ladles in continuous casting plant consists of fork shaped swivel arms mounted on a common or slightly offset separate vertical axes, so that they can be swivelled against each other such that they can be constrained from being rotated by 360 degrees only by the distance between the arms of each fork or the casting ladles, which are placed in these arms. The arms may be connected to electrical motors in the base of the installation for the rotational movement required. The above device offers an easy, quick and labour saving method for the changeover of the casting ladles.
