Abstract

The exit nozzle from the pulp reservoir is defined between two elongate lips having box sections secured to their outer faces. A beam support is arranged within each box section, and a pressure chamber, suppled with e.g. pressure water, is arranged between each beam and the outer face of the associated lip to counteract the pressure exerted by the pulp on the other face of the lip. Pref. the outer face of the lip has cross members extending within the pressure chamber which rest on the beam when the chamber is de-pressurized.
