Abstract

Tobacco product, primarily for cigarettes, comprises tobacco contg. added in amt. of at least 3%, esp. 5-15% of high adsorption carbon fibres as filter, material, so that throughout the combustion, some of the carbon fibres are present in the immediate proximity of the combustion zone. Solid or hollow carbon fibres are used, which have been activated by treatment with gas and steam at 600-2000 degrees C.
