Abstract

The lacquers contain (A) 25-70 wt. % of unsatd. fatty acids of which 0.25% are drying oils and contg. up to 6 wt. % maleic anhydride having acid no 130-390 (B) Up to 30 wt. % aliphatic, cyclo-aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic or hydroxycarboxylic cpds. (C) 5-35 wt.% of polyvalent organohydroxy cpds. (D) Up to 17 wt. % of polyoxy alkylenes contg. active H, of mol. wt. 200-50,000. (E) Up to 65 wt.% copolymerisable monomers. (F) 0.05-50 wt. % isocyanates. (G) Up to 60 wt. % of unsatd. mono or polyalcohols chosen to give ratio of OH equiv to NCO equiv of 1.01-1.45, and (H) Addition of alkali to disperse the resin. The lacquers have improved drying properties giving glossy films with excellent weather resistance flow and storage properties.
