Abstract

Pesticidal (acaricidal and aphicidal) cpds comprise (A) triazadienes: of the formula shown, where X and y, identical or different, are Ph tolyl or substd phenyl where the substituents are; 2,3-Me2; 2,4-Me2; 2,6-Me2; 2,4,6-Me3; 2,4,5-Me3; 2,3,4-Me3; 2-Me-4-halo; 2-halo-4-Me; 2-halo-4,6-Me2; 2,4-dihalo -6-Me; 2-Me-H-OMe. so long as (a) when identical, X and Y are not Ph, tolyl or 2-Me-4-halophenyl and (b) when different 1 at least is 2,3- or 2-4-Me2, 2,4,6- or 2,3,4-Me3; 2-Me-4-halo- or 2-halo-4-Me-phenyl; (B) N-2,4-dimethylphenyl-N'-methylformamidine which is also an intermediate to the prefd. cpd. 1,5-di-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-3-methyl-1,3,5-triazapenta-1,4-diene. The cpds are prepd by essentially known methods.
