1335773 Device for window with alternative movements; multiple pivots WILH FRANK GmbH 19 April 1971 [24 Jan 1970] 20299/71 Headings E2F and E2M A locking and pivoting device which allows a window to be optionally pivoted about a horizontal or vertical axis comprises a plate 34 secured to a vertical rebate in the opening side of the fixed frame 38, one end of the plate having upstanding walls 35, 36 and the other end pivotally mounting a link 33 having a forked end 50, 52, one limb 52 co-operating with the walls 35, 36 to thereby limit the pivotal range of the link and the other limb 50 having a clearance between it and the wall 35: a slot 53 in the link opens on the same side of the link as the link 50 and receives a hinge pin 54 (defining the window's horizontal pivot axis) secured to the window's pivotal frame. A locking member 51 on the pivotal frame is movable between three positions, viz:- a first position between the walls 35, 36 which locks the window; an intermediate position allowing the window to pivot about a vertical axis, the member 51 passing through the clearance between the limb 50 and wall 35; and a third position between the limbs 50, 52 which permits pivoting of the window (and the link) about a horizontal axis. The pivotal connection between the link and the plate 34 may comprise either an arcuate tongue 42 engaging a complementally shaped slot in an end wall 37 on the plate 34 together with a screw or hollow trunnion 49 secured to the plate and retentively engaging in an elongate slot 55 in the link 33 or merely a trunnion interconnecting the link 33 and plate 34, Figure 1 (not shown).
