Abstract

Cleaning device is intended for the gratings at the water intakes at hydroelectric and waste water purification stations; it is of the type comprising a driving motor mounted directly on, or in a movable combing arrangement which co-operates, through a pinion of gearing, directly with the guide racks, which are parallel with the bars of the grating to be cleaned. The cleaning comb or rake is advanced between the bars in the upward direction and is fixed on a box housing the motor. The comb is guided by this box and by upper and lower guide rollers along an external and an internal guide which are connected together. The comb is pivoted in the direction of the grating, as it continues to advance, and its teeth penetrate between the bars. Solid matter caught up by the comb is tipped into an evacuation drain at the top of the device. The latter assures the easy guidage and return of the comb whilst completely cleaning the greating.
