Abstract

Malleable binary alloys of zinc and rare earths. The alloys contain one or more of Dy, Er, Gd, Ho, Nd, Pr or La. The total wt. content of these rare earths 5% and the wt. content of each 1%. The balance is zinc and its usual impurities (Pb, Sn, Cd, Fe, In, Ag, etc) Specifically, the alloys are given a final rolling treatment at a temp. 200 degrees C, and pref. near the ambient temp.
