The catalyst material is spaced away from the perforated contact base plate by a false floor esp of flexible, corrugated metal mesh supported on the base plate at a limited number of points esp in the form of dimpled protrusions and the spacing is =10 mm between plate and false floor, esp. 2-4 mm.
