Abstract

A warp knitting or stitch bonding machine makes a fabric with pile loops, formed during knitting on wires, and the pile loops are cut with a rotating blade. The blade is positioned between the wires in normal way, but its shape is polygonal, cross shaped or circular on an eccentrically rotating shaft. With these shapes, the blade only cuts in one position, where pile loop has reached its optimum position for cutting. Where the blade is not in contact, the loop moves forward to this position.
