Abstract
The material has the compn (in wt %) 5-30 Ag, 0.5-50 graphite, balance Ni. The constituents in powder from are cold compacted at a specific press. of 2-3 MP/cm2, and subsequently hot compacted at a specific press. of 5-6 Mp/cm2 and temp. 400-450 degrees for 10 sec. to 1 min. The product has a specfici resistivity of is not >1ohm mm2/m, and low transition resistance, high compressive strength and high wear resistance, and is suitable for electrical contacts in automatic signalling equipment, relays etc.
