Abstract

The safety wheel has a wheel rim made from one or more parts, joined together to form an airtight seal. The tyre cover is sealed on the rim to form an airtight cover for the inner tube. The valve of the inner tube is fed through a special housing attached to the wheel rim by special sealing rings so that the space between the tube and the cover is airtight. The side of the valve housing has an extension fitted with a membrane. When air leaks from the inner tube to the space between the tube and the cover, the membrane is pressed outwards and operates a leak indicator.
