Abstract

A device for pleating textile material comprises a pair of folding plates secured to a mounting (e.g. wall) and pivotal towards each other by a lever mechanism to clamp an initially formed pleat in a length of textile material. The length of textile material is then drawn longitudinally through the plates so that a pleat is formed along the complete length of the material. The device is used for pleating curtains or drapes. A single person can easily form pleats in large lengths of material.
