Abstract

Polyethylenic silicon cpds., esp. for synthesis of polymers, have the formula (I): (where n is 1-3; R is an org. group having ethylenic unsaturation; R1 is alkyl, which may be substd. by halogen or nitrile, or aryl or aralkyl, which may be substd. by halogen in the aromatic group; R2 is alkylene or alkylidene; X is O, S or N, or a group contg. at least one of these atoms; A is a divalent or trivalent org. group; B is a group of formula: -R3-CO-R3-, -T-R4-T-, R3 is O or N; R4 is a direct bond or an org. group; R5 is a trivalent org. group; R6 is a tetravalent org. group; T is a group of formula: -CO-O-, -CO-S-, -NH-CO-O-, -NH-CO-S-, -CO-NR7-, -NH-CO-NR7 or R7 is H or alkyl). (I) react with alpha, omega-dihydrogenopolydimethylsiloxanes to form block copolymers which are thermoplastic silicone elastomers have a wide range of uses.
