Abstract
The fan rotor is of air-permeable material, and runs in a concentric cylindrical chamber of complementary bowl shape, the spindle passing through the chamber base. An annular nozzle (13) defines an inlet (11) and an outlet (12) port, concentric to each other. The inner wall of the nozzle can be arranged to converge in the direction of air entry, and the outlet port can incorporate guide vanes, arranged obliquely and inclined towards the periphery in the direction of rotation. The inlet can have vanes straightening the air currents, and a water jet (15) can be mounted in the inlet. Where the fan is used as a dust suppressor, there can be a drain for mud and other materials projected by the rotor.
