Abstract

A door lock with its mechanism housed between two plates which can be recessed in the door, has a toothed wheel (24) which is rotated to shoot home a set of locking rods which engage the frame. These rods can engage the frame at top, bottom and sides of the door, one of them (10) being a normal door bolt. Each rod carries a roller (30b, 32r, 34r, 36r) which fits into a spiral slot (30, 32, 34, 36) in the wheel (24). The lock can be key operated, and the toothed wheel can be rotated by a drive pinion (22) alongside. Furthermore, the wheel has a portion without teeth, and a flug (29) can protrude from the plain portion, to be engaged by a locking arm (70).
