Abstract

Procédé de production de polymères de sulfure/sulfone aromatiques et nouveaux produits ainsi obtenus. Ces polymères sont produits en mettant en contact une sulfone dihaloaromatique un sulfure de métal alcalin (autre que le sulfure de lithium) et un carboxylate de métal alcalin dans un diluant formé de sulfone; l'utilisation du carboxylate de métal alcalin entraîne la production de polymères à poids moléculaires élevés. La présente invention est particulièrement utile pour fournir des polymères de sulfure/sulfone aromatiques à poids moléculaires élevés, employés notamment comme revêtements, films, objets moulés, fibres et filaments.
