Abstract
L'invention concerne la fabrication de pièces en acier, possédant une couche superficielle dure. On part d'une ébauche en acier, faiblement allié, dont la teneur en chrome est comprise entre 0,6 et 6 %, tandis que la teneur en éléments d'alliage nitrogènes est supérieure à 2 %. On plonge cette ébauche pendant environ une heure dans un bain de sels fondus, contenant entre 25 et 45 % de cynates ou d'un composé de cyanates et de cyanures. Application : fabrication de molettes pour l'allumage de briquets.
