Abstract

L'invention concerne un élément d'étanchéité flexible avec labyrinthe d'écoulement renforcé, notamment d'un joint de tourillon de cylindre de laminage. Ledit élément présente un corps circulaire entourant étroitement la bague d'étanchéité externe. Une première lèvre circulaire se prolonge vers l'extérieur du corps suivant un angle par rapport à son axe et vient en contact de frottement avec la face extrême du cylindre. Le corps présente un orifice d'écoulement aligné avec un orifice de vidange de la bague d'étanchéité externe. Une seconde lèvre qui se prolonge à l'opposé de la première protège l'orifice d'écoulement Le corps de l'élément d'étanchéité est renforcé par une chicane. La chicane et la seconde lèvre coopèrent pour former un labyrinthe qui élimine les impuretés qui sont projetées par centrifugation dans le palier à partir des surfaces tournantes des cylindres sous-jacents. Application à l'étanchéité des paliers de tourillons des cylindres d'un laminoir.
