Abstract

La présente invention est relative à la préparation de compositions polymères absorbantes, comprenant des copolymères greffés d'acrylonitrile et d'amidon, ou bien de polymères hydroxyles apparentés. Suivant l'invention, on mélange l'acrylonitrile avec des comonomères acryliques solubles dans l'eau tels que les monomères du type acrylamido, l'acrylamide, l'acide acrylique ou les monomères d'acrylate, le rapport molaire de ces monomères acryliques à l'acrylonitrile étant de 1/99 à 85/15. L'invention permet de réduire la durée de saponification et de préparer des produits qui absorbent plus de 5 000 fois leur poids d'eau désionisée.
