Acier inoxydable austénitique à chaud résistant à la corrosion par piqûres et fissures en présence d'une solution contenant des ions chlorure, par exemple l'eau de mer. Cet acier, contenant des proportions définies de chrome, de nickel, de mobybdène, de manganèse, etc., contient également de l'azote en quantité d'au moins 0,2 %, le rapport pondéral du manganèse à l'azote étant d'au moins 20.
