Abstract

L'invention est relative à un procédé de préparation de liants pour électrodes. Ce procédé consiste à soumettre des résidus de vapocraquage de coupes pétrolières ou de fractions issues dudit résidu introduites par la ligne 3 dans un mûrisseur 1 à un traitement thermique sous pression légère en maintenant un écart de température significatif entre la partie chaude de l'appareil de traitement thermique 1 et sa partie plus froide. Le temps du mûrissement est réglé par intermédiaire d'un système de régulation du niveau 8 actionnant une vanne 10. Le brai obtenu est soutiré par la ligne 11 et refroidi par l'intermédiaire des échangeurs de chaleur 5 et 12. Le réglage de l'écart de température est assuré par le réglage du débit d'un fluide de refroidissement circulant dans le condenseur 13 et les distillats excédentaires ainsi que les gaz produits sont soutirés par la ligne 14 et refroidis par l'échangeur de chaleur 4 et le condenseur 15. Les brais sont utilisés pour la fabrication d'électrodes utilisables notamment pour la production d'aluminium.
