Abstract

Lesdites structures composites contenant notamment des particules de carbure de tungstène fritté dans une matrice locale d'un alliage d'acier comprenant du carbone, du cobalt et du tungstène sont préparées en plaçant dans un moule des particules de carbure de tungstène avec du cobalt comme liant, dont certaines au moins sont d'une grosseur supérieure à celles que l'on désire incorporer dans l'objet composite final. L'alliage de base, qui présente peu ou pas de tungstène, est chauffé au-dessus de son point de fusion, puis est versé dans le moule relativement froid. Le carbone, le tungstène et le cobalt des surfaces externes des particules sont dissous et sont diffusés dans l'alliage qui est refroidi naturellement et qui se solidifie. Application à la réalisation d'objets composites très résistants tels que des dents de lames de bouteurs et des marteaux de concasseurs.
