Abstract
Procédé de fabrication d'articles verriers présentant une contrainte de rupture élevée et des qualités de surface antistatiques, c'est-à-dire une faible résistivité électrique de surface, caractérisé en ce que l'article, trempé chimiquement et réchauffé à une température inférieure à sa température de relâchement des contraintes, est recouvert aussitôt d'un composé métallique sous forme de poudre qui se pyrolyse au contact de la surface chaude en une couche d'oxyde conducteur. Dans le cas d'un article en verre silicosodocalcique oridnaire, celui-ci est réchauffé à une température inférieure à 540 degrés C, et de préférence à 520 degrés C. Le composé métallique est une poudre de dibutyl oxyde d'étain broyée à une granulométrie inférieure à 20 mu m. L'invention a pour objet un article en verre obtenu suivant ledit procédé, article presentant une contrainte de rupture sigma r d'environ 30 kg/mm**2 et une résistivité électrique de surface inférieure à 20 000 OMEGA /carré.
