Abstract
L'invention concerne l'industrie de l'hydrométallurgie. Procédé de purification du nickel par chloration sous une couche de chlorure de métal alcalin fondu dans lequel se dissolvent les chlorures formés avec les impuretés; le sel solidifié, chargé des impuretés, est purifié par lixiviation, pendant une durée inférieure ou égale à 10 mn, avec une solution aqueuse saturée par le chlorure de métal alcalin, contenant aussi au moins 50 g/l de chlorure de nickel. Application à la purification de mattes de nickel contenant comme impuretés un ou plusieurs des éléments Fe, Cu, Co, Pb, Cr, Zn, Mn, Cd ou Sn.
