Abstract

L'invention concerne une mousse efficace pour combattre un incendie de liquide hydrophile ou polaire tel que les alcools inférieurs, des cétones, etc. La mousse de l'invention est obtenue à partir d'un concentré contenant un agent épaississant thixotrope dissous en grande quantité, dont la viscosité reste acceptable notamment sous agitation. L'hétéropolysaccharide-7 ou ses formes à chaîne modifiée conviennent à cette fin. Le concentré peut aussi être préparé sous une forme qui convient pour combattre des incendies de liquides hydrophobes, par addition de surfactants qui entraînent la formation d'une pellicule aqueuse sur ces liquides.
