Abstract

La garniture d'étanchéité comprend : des pièces rapportées métalliques 37 réparties en cercle autour de l'axe géométrique de la garniture et ayant des parties centrales ou âmes 42 qui sont dirigées à la fois longitudinalement et latéralement autour de l'axe de façon à définir des surfaces 38 dont les parties 38a sont tournées dans le sens longitudinal ; et un anneau 39 de matière élastomère qui entoure l'axe et dans lequel sont noyées les âmes, en contact avec lesdites parties de surface, si bien que les âmes immobilisent le matériau et s'opposent à son déplacement longitudinal pendant le déplacement de la garniture par compression.
