Abstract

Matériaux de support de carbone poreux, leur obtention et leur application, notamment chromatographie. Selon l'invention, on obtient des matériaux de support de carbone poreux, mécaniquement stables avec une teneur en carbone d'au moins 99 %, une surface spécifique d'environ 1 à 5 m**2/g et une dimension particulaire comprise entre environ 5 et 50 mu , par un procédé caractérisé en ce qu'on traite une ou plusieurs fois par un solvant un charbon actif ou un coke dur, ayant une dimension particulaire comprise entre 5 et 50 mu environ et une surface spécifique comprise entre environ 10 et 1000 m** 2/g et qu'on soumet ensuite le matériau obtenu à un traitement thermique à des températures comprises entre 2400 et 3000 degrés C environ, sous une atmosphère de gaz inerte.
