Abstract

Le dispositif comporte une couche de cristal liquide 12, située entre deux plaques de support 3, 4, dont l'une 4 fait saillie sur toute sa surface dans des zones transparentes à la lumière du dispositif d'affichage et dont la seconde 3 comporte des entretoises 11 en butée contre les parties saillantes 9 de la plaque 4, la couche 12 contenant au moins un colorant pléochroïque à anisotropie diélectrique positive et possédant une orientation homéotrope au niveau de ses surfaces limites parallèles aux plaques, et, une orientation cholestérique dans les zones d'affichage non commandées. Application notamment aux systèmes d'affichage numérique.
