Abstract

The rotary mower for domestic purposes has a motor with a vertically depending drive shaft on the end of which a horizontal cutting blade or blades are secured. It has a wheel mounted chassis having a casing which lies between the motor and the blades. A cover is fixed over the motor. The motor is connected to the casing via bolts (19-22) which pass through an annular metal or plastics ring (6) on which vibration dampers are mounted. Their shapes can include truncated rubber sleeves (18) around the bolts and rubber pads of various shapes (14-17). The pads may be bonded to metal bases (11). The pads may be built up of layers of rubber of different shore hardnesses.
