Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de thioxanthones. Selon le procédé de l'invention, on fait réagir une o,o'-dihalogénobenzophénone avec du soufre ou avec un sulfure ou un hydrogénosulfure métallique, la réaction étant effectuée dans un système à 2 phases en présence d'un catalyseur de transfert de phases, lorsqu'on utilise un sulfure ou un hydrogénosulfure métallique, et la réaction étant effectuée en milieu alcalin soit dans un milieu à une seule phase, soit dans un milieu à 2 phases en présence d'un catalyseur de transfert de phases, lorsqu'on met en jeu du soufre. Les thioxanthones ainsi obtenues peuvent être utilisées comme agents photoinitiateurs.
