Abstract

Vessel has a base and >=3 vertical walls and the lining comprising sections of sheet metal bearing against a frame fixed to the vessel walls, together with a lining for the base. The base lining comprises a sheet metal structure with joining edges, its external dimensions being less than those of the vessel in plan view, so that its individual sections can be assembled before insertion into the vessel the oins being checked by non-destructive testing. The frame comprises vertical hollow beams anchored in the vessel walls and with flat supporting surfaces towards the inside forming welding strips for the sheet-metal sections. Their dimensions are large enough to allow insertion of a film for non-destructive testing Horizontal beams anchored in the walls and with flanged edges on the inside protruding beyond the supporting portion to form welding strips. their height allowing test film insertion at the rear. The sheet-metal sections lining the sides are rectangular, with reinforcing struts on the rear forming a grid pattern whose thickness is equal to that of the beams. The dimensions correspond to those of the sections. which are butt-welded together along seams running along the beam welding strips.
