Abstract

A self-tuning hyperfrequency radiation system comprises a combination of a generator such as a magetron, a rectangular section waveguide, an antenna for dissipating TE10H10 vibrations to a circular waveguide linking the first waveguide to a resonant chamber of varying form and/or dimensions, and a second antenna for generating TMo1Eo1 waves in the circular waveguide, where the link between the circular waveguide and the resonant cavity is an antenna with radial slots. Used for single or multi chamber tools for curing rubber moulds which may have metallic inserts, e.g. armoured hose couplings. The tuning device inhibits stabilisation of standing wave patterns which can lead to localised overheating and scorching of the moulding in some places and undercuring in others.
