Abstract

A signal generator and processor is for electronic ignition circuits used in vehicle engines. The generator is triggered by a sensor (11) associated with the engine flywheel, the input stage consisting of a monostable oscillator (12). The oscillator square wave output is inverted and integrated (13) such that a linear ramp is provided for both mark and space periods in the square wave train. The slope of the sawtooth wave form is constant whatever the square wave frequency and feeds an operational amplifier (14) in turn generating a well defined fast pulse at each change from a positive to negative slope.
