Abstract

The ski brake has two braking feet (1a, 1b) which are fixed to the extremities of two flexible sheets (5a, 5b) which have a permanent curve. They can be retracted into a case (3) fitted on the ski (4) so that the feet are on either side of the case when not in use or on either side of the ski in the braking position. The braing feet are automatically operated by a pedal hinged to the case which operates a rack and pinion. This is connected to a rod whose extremeties have studs which fit into holes in each sheet.
