Abstract

The vehicle door has one or more reinforcing members formed by a ribbed sheet-metal stiffener extending for the entire door length between the inner and outer walls. The ribs have edges bent upwards and extending for the length of the stiffener, which is of tapering sections, with its max. height and depth at the middle portion. The edges can be bent towards the cores of the ribs, and there can be an embossed portion in the flat strip joining the two ribs together.
