Abstract

A fork lift truck, which is intended for handing long loads such as trees trunks or metal bars, has the lifting fork (12) running in vertical guider (11). These are attached to a base structure (20) which can pivot about a vertical shaft (23) which passes through onee of the base side members (20b). The pivoting of the base structure is controlled by hydraulic cylinders. A long load can be picked up from the front of the truck and then turned through 90 deg. to facilitate movement along narrow gangways.
