Abstract

The connecting pipe is for use between the engine exhaust manifold and the silencer mounted rigidly under the bodywork. Each of the flexible portions between its end sockets and the rigid central portion is formed by a bellows, whose length is just sufficient to allow angular movement between socket and central portion, but not to allow any appreciable lateral movement of the latter. The rigid central portion, bellows and sockets are in one piece, hydraulically shaped from thin-walled tube.
