Abstract

L'invention concerne la production de magnésium à partir de chlorure de magnésium ou carnallite, qui est formé a l'aide de chlorure de calcium. Le chlorure de calcium est obtenu à partir de lait de chaux, des gaz résiduels chlorés formés dans la production du magnésium, et de gaz chlorhydrique. Le procédé de l'invention réduit considérablement les pertes de catalyseur ainsi que la consommation de lait de chaux.
