Abstract

La présente invention concerne une fraise à plaquettes de coupe prismatiques interchangeables. Cette fraise est caractérisée en ce que les logements 2, 3 des plaquettes sont constitués par des entailles débouchant alternativement dans les deux faces frontales du corps, les fonds de ces entailles étant disposés en quinconce par rapport au plan transversal médian du corps, et en ce que chaque plaquette de coupe 4 est fixée à la partie extrême externe d'une pièce 5 formant support elle-même emboîtée et fixée dans une entaille du corps de manière à former deux séries de plaquettes disposées en quinconce, chaque plaquette 4 étant maintenue fermement en disposition sur son support 5, si bien que les arêtes de coupe des deux séries de plaquettes disposées en quinconce se chevauchent dans le sens longitudinal et qu'ainsi la largeur globale de la fraise est égale au double de la longueur des arêtes de coupe diminué de leur chevauchement dans le sens longitudinal.
