Abstract
Description d'un procédé de fabrication d'une tige-mère pour fibre optique caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte les stades suivants : hydrolyse d'un alcoolate de silicium pour préparer un gel de forme voulue, séchage et ensuite frittage du gel pour fabriquer un bloc de verre silicé. Le procédé présente de nombreux avantages à savoir qu'il s'adapte très bien à une fabrication en série, qu'un verre de B2 O3 -SiO2 peut être fabriqué ainsi et qu'un bloc de verre de forme arbitraire peut être fabriqué facilement.
