The invention relates to a device for controlling moving parts by projecting on these parts a virtual image automatically determined by a digital processing center (8) which receives, in real time, data representative of the actual state of the parts and previously acquired by an examination station (2) arranged across the scroll path. The control of the projection of this virtual image is synchronized with the drive of the scrolling part. The invention applies to the visualization of an image having in coded form predetermined specificities (defects in particular) of parts examined in series on a drive belt (or areas successively examined on the same part).

Description

The invention relates to a device for controlling moving parts, and more particularly to a device in which means for signaling to an operator defects or other specificities of the part are provided. It relates to any type of industrial application in which it is necessary to consider the parts having defects among a series running on an industrial chain. In this context of checking the defects of a workpiece, visiometry examination techniques are known which consist of image capture by means of detecting a light beam coming from the part subjected to exposure under radiation. incident, as well as an analysis by image processing performed on the signals obtained, under the control of adapted software, to deduce the state of the objects examined with regard to specific properties. These examination techniques advantageously relate to objects 15 presented on examination in defined discrete locations, in a continuous scrolling. By way of example, they are used in the field of the food industry for the candling of poultry eggs, which consist in examining the eggs by transparency by exposing them individually to the light beam, most often in infrared light, in order to to distinguish between the eggs in a state of fertilization of each, and thus allow to select those which are fertilized, excluding those which are not, and that it is therefore useless to send to hatcheries where chicks will be born. In conventional egg-gluing plants, bins are run in series, each containing a batch of eggs, the bins being placed one after the other horizontally on a conveyor device, for example of the conveyor type. circulating in a closed loop, which drives them through the opto-electronic examination station, and the examination takes place as and when the successive rows under the 30 detectors. At the exit of the examination, one automatically pilot according to the results of the examination a grip of the eggs selectively according to their use and their destination. The invention aims to provide an alternative to this type of control device, which allows an operator to manually intervene on the parts during their scrolling. Means are provided to guide and optimize this operator intervention. The invention applies, in the context of non-destructive inspection examinations, to the display by an operator of an image presenting in coded form predetermined specificities, and by way of example of defects, of parts examined in series. on a training mat. We can in the same context apply this visualization to areas successively examined on the same room. According to the invention, such a device comprises means associated with the examination station for projecting a virtual image on the parts driven in scrolling. The virtual image thus serves to identify at the sight of an operator the characteristics pointed by projection for an examined part and is automatically determined by an associated digital processing center on the basis of data representative of the actual state of the piece acquired previously during the examination. This examination may be performed by visiometry and the processing center will be able to exploit the known techniques of digital image processing software. The virtual image is modified in real time so that the dotted features can remain superimposed on the same location of the part all along the movement of that piece in a certain area of the scrolling path downstream of the examination station. It is particularly interesting that the projected virtual image is superimposed on the scrolling parts as it facilitates a manual control operation of the operator who then does not have to look at the information from a monitor before intervening on the conveyor belt. The operator is not likely to mislead parts during his check, or to err on the type of control to perform. The moving of the projected virtual image and that of the moving part on the training mat are synchronized so that the features pointed virtually on the part remain visible to the operator long enough for him to make good use of it. If one considers the preferred cases of application of the invention, where one finds situations identical or similar to those of the candling eggs, that is to say, where it is intended to report to an operator a particular state of all or part of a moving part according to the preliminary examination which has been made, secondary characteristics of the invention, applying individually or simultaneously in any technically operative combination, are advantageously the following: - The digital processing center includes an analysis module for processing the data acquired during the examination and a control module adapted to deliver a control signal for projecting a virtual image on the scrolling parts by a video projector. The control signal is recalculated in real time according to new data received from the analysis module and as a function of information relating to the scrolling of the carpet. The control module includes the software means necessary for this calculation in real time. - The video projector is associated with a fixed mirror to reflect the virtual image projected on the conveyor belt that drives the parts. Thus, it is possible to arrange the projector horizontally and to reflect the projected image on the parts, which is interesting to respect the conditions of use for a good cooling of the video projector. The arrangement of the video projector, parallel to the conveyor belt, is also ergonomic and protects the lens during use of the device. It can be provided that the video projector is associated with a rotating mirror. The virtual image projected by the video projector is fixed and the control module delivers a rotation control of the mirror so that the variable inclination of the mirror ensures a displacement of the projected image at the rate of the scrolling of the parts on the carpet. According to a characteristic of the invention, automatic coin gripping means are also arranged on the passage of the coins and the processing center is adapted to control either these gripping means or the virtual image projection on the coins according to the invention. fault detected on a given part. In terms of the method, the invention is notably reflected in the fact that pieces are successively passed in front of an examination station in which specific characteristics, and for example defects, of these parts are measured. A virtual image is then automatically created by calculation in which these specific characteristics are modeled, so as to project in the next step this virtual image into a viewing station, located downstream on the path of the scrolling of the pieces, when said pieces find themselves in this viewing station. According to one characteristic of the invention, the modifications to be made to the virtual image are calculated in real time so that the specific characteristics modeled that the virtual image has remain superimposed on the parts during their entire scrolling in the display station. The invention will now be more fully described in the context of preferred features and their advantages, with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of the device as a whole, in the mode of particular embodiment where the method is applied to the control of eggs, with a detector and a projector which are oriented towards a portion of carpet on which parts to be monitored scroll, and a processing center disposed between the detector and the projector to control the projection ; FIG. 2 is a block diagram representative of the sequence of steps of the piece failure control process according to the invention, and FIG. 3 is a schematic representation of the device in an application different from that illustrated in FIG. 1, and in which it is represented by way of example an image projected by the projector on the moving part according to the invention. The installation 1 comprises an examination station 2 and a viewing station 4 which are oriented towards a conveyor 6 with a closed-loop circulating belt or equivalent device, and it further comprises a digital processing center 8 connected to these stations. two positions. In the illustrated embodiment, the conveyor 6 is shown in part, with an inlet portion 10 and an outlet portion 12. This conveyor drives in translation at constant speed, racks containing the eggs to be reamed (not shown) , which are introduced one after the other at the entrance of the installation.

The installation also comprises sensor means 14 associated with the conveyor and adapted to determine the running speed of the belt. These sensor means are connected to the processing center. The examination station 2 is fixed between the two input and output portions of the conveyor. In this embodiment, this is a visiometry examination station, which includes a radiation source 16 and detection means 18. The radiation source illuminates the eggs as they pass the examination station. and the detection means recover an image of the illuminated pieces by detecting light emerging from the eggs. The radiation source is adapted to emit light at a wavelength to which the detection means are sensitive. In the operation as will be described hereinafter, these means forming the visiometry station remain fixed-being focused on a specific area, hereinafter called examination zone 11, and it is the carpet that runs , bringing successive rows of eggs in this examination area. The radiation source may be arranged on the same side as the detection means, but it will be understood that the source is generally arranged under the conveyor for illumination of the bins from bottom to top to sensors located above the conveyor. The radiation source comprises a plurality of light-emitting diodes arranged on a line parallel to the rows of the bins, that is to say in a direction orthogonal to the movement of the carpet and bins. As shown in FIG. 1, the radiation source receives control signals via a link 20 at the digital processing center 8. The diodes are pulse-controlled by the processing center, at a rate determined according to the speed of the conveyor, and in synchronism with the scrolling of the bins, so that each diode produces an elementary illumination beam of a cell of a rack at the time of its passage in the examination zone in front of the diode, and that this beam is modified by the egg it contains before being captured by the detection means to be analyzed.

The detection means 18 comprise a camera, and by way of example a matrix camera that includes CCD type photographic sensors. The camera and its sensors are arranged in correlation with the linear spatial configuration of the diodes disposed under the conveyor, so that a photographic sensor is associated with a diode to a particular cell of a rack passing in front of the station. visiometric examination. The detection means are also connected to the processing center by links-22, which allow in one direction the transmission of control signals 10 for driving the CCD sensor produced by the processing center to the detection means, and which allow in the other direction the transmission to the computer electrical signals representative of the radiation received by the camera, and therefore the transmission of data representative of the actual state of the parts passing in scrolling in the examination zone. The viewing station 4 comprises a video projector 26, connected to the digital processing center by a link 30, and a mirror .28. The video projector is adapted to receive by the link 30 the signals representative of a virtual image created by the processing center. The projector is fixedly arranged between the inlet portion and the outlet portion of the conveyor and is horizontally disposed to facilitate proper operation of its cooling fan. The video projector is thus disposed substantially parallel to the belt of the conveyor and the lens is not directed directly on the moving parts. The image that it projects is directed on the mirror, so that the image is reflected towards the conveyor, in a viewing zone 13 so that it can be superimposed on the moving part, here the bin filled with eggs. The position of the mirror and its inclination are adjusted beforehand so that the reflected image covers the entire viewing area, and this inclination is then fixed so that during the scrolling of the parts driven by the carpet, the video projector and mirror are fixed. For the production of the virtual image and its projection, it is ensured that alerts are created that are particularly readable by the operator, since they are directly superimposed on the part. As will be described hereinafter, the image has geometric shapes adapted to be superimposed on portions of the part identified to be reported to the operator, and these geometric shapes take on specific colors or graphics to give precise information to the operator on the type of control that must be performed on these identified areas. Advantageously, this projection is made by synchronizing it with the scrolling of the piece so that the image can remain superimposed on the piece long enough to be useful to the operator, without having to stop, scrolling. and delay industrial production. For this purpose, the virtual image is recalculated in real time and it is this recalculated image that is projected on the viewing area. The projected virtual image is thus modified as and when the part scrolls in the viewing area. If a row of eggs is pointed by a projected virtual row when it enters the viewing area, the virtual image of the viewing area is recalculated in real time to move this virtual row in the virtual image of the viewing area. entry to the output of the viewing area at the rate of advance of the eggs, that is to say the speed of movement of the conveyor. In addition, the recalculated virtual image takes into account the arrival in the viewing area of parts subsequently arranged on the carpet and takes into account the output of the viewing area of the parts 25 arranged before. As previously described, the processing center is connected, by links which may be indifferently here wired links or wireless links, to each of the components of the visiometry station, the display station and the conveyor. The processing center comprises on the one hand an analysis module adapted to perform a processing of data representative of the actual state of the parts and received from the examination station, and on the other hand comprises a suitable control module. fabricating a virtual image in which defect identification information of the parts is inserted and synchronizing the projection of the image, made with the scrolling of the eggs. The processing center receives various information among which the speed of travel of the carpet, from the sensor means 14, or information of passage of a new egg rack to be cast on the conveyor having synchronization pulse value for all the treatment center. The analysis module performs the processing of the data representative of the actual state of the parts and received by the examination station, here by the detection means sensitive to the radiation modified by the passage of the eggs. It outputs two pieces of information, one relating to the presence of eggs in the cells of the bin and therefore to the position coordinates of each of the eggs present relative to the frame of reference defined by the conveyor, and the other relating to the state of these eggs according to the visiometric examination. The results of the analysis are instantly transmitted to the control module for the production of the virtual image. The control module includes means for creating a virtual image that is equivalent in size to that of the viewing area, and in which each egg is specifically identified according to its category. In this virtual image, the pixels corresponding to an egg are assigned a specific color according to the state resulting from the analysis performed upstream. For example, a properly fertilized egg will be represented by a green circle and a non-viable fertilized egg by a red circle, while an egg for which the question arises, for example for eggs that seem unfertilized and for which one wishes a manual or visual control, will be represented by a yellow circle. The control module outputs to the video projector electrical signals encoding the created virtual image. Advantageously, the control module comprises software means adapted to control in real time the modification of the virtual image created and the projection of the image created to ensure the synchronization of this projection with the scrolling of the part. The control module receives information from the analysis module and information relating to the scrolling of the carpet, so as to automatically drive a new calculation, at a given frequency corresponding to the scrolling of the pieces, of the virtual image for that pixels corresponding to a part of the room, here an egg; remain pointed on this precise part all along its scrolling in the viewing area. It can be seen that the analysis module performs a point analysis on each egg when the egg passes through the examination zone, while the control module operates in a loop to update the projected virtual image on the eggs. scrolling eggs. We will now describe the operation of the device, in the case of its installation with a visiometry examination station, relying in particular on the descriptive block diagram of Figure 2. 15 We set beforehand, before the start-up of the installation, the inclination of the mirror so that it can reflect the image projected by the projector on the desired viewing area. When the inclination is given, it freezes the position of the mirror which remains thereafter fixed during the scrolling of the parts driven by the conveying lapis. The rows of eggs are placed successively on the conveyor belt (step E1). Each of the rows passes in front of a cell which sends to the processing center information of this passage (step E2). This information serves as a synchronization pulse for the actions that will follow, such as starting the examination station or evaluating the position of the rows in the viewing area, necessary to project a properly synchronized virtual image with moving the eggs. When a row of eggs to be expelled arrives in the examination area, the examination station is triggered beforehand by the treatment center. The eggs cut the beam emitted by the radiation source (step E3). They intercept the beam - and retransmit with a variable attenuation depending on their state. The more or less significant diffusion of the light entering the egg is picked up by the detection means and the corresponding data are transmitted to the processing center.

The data are tabulated and each egg is assigned a state based on this treatment (step E4). The analysis module makes it possible, for example, to determine whether the analyzed eggs are fertilized or not, by locating the rate of attenuation of the light beam at the crossing of each egg with respect to threshold values limiting predetermined ranges. Discrimination is made between the eggs. If it proves during a test step E7, that the analysis by image processing has revealed no particular defect to report to the operator, it may be decided not to project any image on the eggs. , and go directly to egg marking or seizure stations. In real time, the processing center continues to receive data from the scroll egg station successively in the examination area.

Since defects are to be reported to the operator, the coordinates and the state of the eggs thus discriminated are recorded in the control module and this information is taken into account, as well as information relating to the size of the area. visualization and the scrolling speed of the parts, for the manufacture of the virtual image (step E5) to project thereafter on the scrolling egg crate. The fabricated virtual image has specific areas whose shape and size are adapted to cover problem areas of the part, and whose color or filling gives indications of the type of control to be performed by the operator, who knows beforehand the color code implemented in the installation. This signaling is particularly interesting according to the invention because it allows the identification by the operator of a certain category of egg in a context where a manual test can either remove an uncertainty on the quality of the egg, or facilitate the following the industrial operation. The image is sent to the video projector and the image reflected by the mirror is superimposed on the eggs (step E6), each egg being associated with a part of the image that is specific to it. The virtual image is recalculated in a loop to continuously point the feeder in an inaccessible area of the conveyor so that the operator can intervene manually, and in particular before an automatic gripping zone and / or marking. In practice, the control device can be associated with stations not shown in FIG. 1 and which can accumulate downstream of the installation, such as an egg marking station or an automated sorting station. These stations are characterized by a plurality of fixed mounted devices above the conveyor, whether in the case of inking units with ink ejectors, or nozzles, or in another case suction cups piloted for the capture of such or such a discriminated egg. Sorting by suction cup or marking (step E8), whether indelible for the subsequent information of the consumer or temporary for the immediate information of the manufacturer, are point operations at a given moment of scrolling, unlike the virtual image projection on the part as described previously, which must be synchronized with the scrolling of the part. FIG. 3 shows an example of application of the invention that is different from that previously described in the context of candling eggs, namely the control of motor vehicle doors. These doors scroll on the production line and an examination station 2 sends to the processing center 8 data representative of the state of the door taken to the passage thereof in the examination area. Based on the analysis by the data center of these data reflecting an image of the reality of the room, the control module creates a virtual image that corresponds to the contours of the door as it moves through the room. viewing area, and wherein it has shapes and colors corresponding to a code determined in advance and visible to the operator. Here, the door schematically comprises a door panel at the top of which a glazed portion extends, with seal seals on its contours. The door also comprises a handle, closure means arranged at the rear of the door and two means of articulation arranged at the front. .2 The analysis of the data acquired in the area of examination by laser, probing or other means of detection, has in the example revealed three defects on the seals, a defect on means of closure and a defect on the one of the means of articulation. The image that is created identifies these defects, modeling them with geometric shapes representative of problem areas. In addition, these geometric shapes are filled with patterns specific to each type of defect detected. The projection means sends the virtual image to the door as soon as it enters the viewing area. Thus, the projected image is superimposed on the door and the virtual image is recalculated in real time to follow the movement of the door which continues its scrolling, so as to point by the geometric shapes detected faults. The operator sees special patterned areas that tell him what action to take. In the example, the ribbed zones indicate to the operator that he must control the alignment of the seal on the glass part, while the grid areas indicate to the operator that he must control the screwing of the parts. on the door panel. In order for the operator to have time to see which areas are specifically pointed by the superposition of the virtual image, this image is projected and reflected on the part for a sufficiently long period. It can be provided for this purpose that the speed of travel of the conveyor belt is reduced in the viewing area. Since the part is scrolling, the projected virtual image 25 is changed according to the displacement of the part so that the reflected image remains superimposed all the time of the passage of the part in the viewing area. According to the production lines on which this type of device is applied, the viewing zone can overlap the examination zone, that is to say that in the direction of the conveyor 30, the viewing zone can begin before the zone exam will not finish. Possibly this viewing area may completely encompass the examination area. In general, it is understood that the viewing area is an area downstream of the examination area on the conveyor.

The foregoing description clearly explains how the invention achieves the goals it has set for itself. In particular, it allows the creation of a virtual image following the real-time analysis of data representative of the real state of parts to be controlled, it allows the projection of the virtual image on the parts in a specific projection area , and it ensures a synchronization of the projection with the scrolling of the pieces. It is thus possible to point out the visualized defects and to characterize them to facilitate the reading of the operator, and for a sufficient time for the operator to intervene. The presence of the mirror makes it possible to avoid the vertical position of the projector, which could have a detrimental effect on the internal ventilation of the video projector. Here, the synchronization is performed by the automatic real-time computation of the virtual image according to the speed of movement of the carpet and the information received by the data acquisition means 15 of the examination station. This is particularly advantageous in the case of continuous scrolling of parts. The projected image adapts continuously to the scrolling of the eggs, and it is not necessary for the operator to have time to identify the potential problem eggs on which it must intervene manually, to stop the scrolling of the carpet or to provide a buffer zone between two sets of pieces. In a variant not shown, it will be possible to provide the projection means differently, in particular by the fact that the mirror disposed opposite the video projector to reflect the virtual image takes the form of a rotating mirror mounted to rotate on an axis motorized 25 driven by the treatment center via a specific link. The mirror is adapted to pivot between two extreme positions, namely a first position in which the image reflected by the mirror is directed on an upstream end of the viewing area defined on the conveyor and a second position in which the image Reflected is directed to a downstream end of this viewing area, close to the exit portion of the conveyor. The rotational speed of the motorized axis is determined by the calculation so that the displacement of the projected image is synchronized with the movement of the part on the carpet, ie so that the image created is superimposed so that continues on the piece all along its scroll in the viewing area. It is then appropriate to respect between two series of rooms an interval allowing the viewing station to accompany the movement of a first series from the first zone to the second zone before the next series appears in the first zone. There is thus a buffer zone between the drop zone and the examination zone. It is understood that in this variant, it is the orientation of the mirror that directs the image to the scrolling part in the viewing area, while the projector remains fixed. It is on this orientation that we will act to synchronize the display displacement 10 of the room. Synchronization is achieved by rotating the axis carrying the rotating mirror. This can be interesting in the simplification of the virtual image to be manufactured. Nevertheless, it is apparent from the foregoing that the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have been specifically described and shown in the figures and which, on the contrary, extends to any variant passing through equivalent means.
