Matériau solide à porosité multiple ouverte et au moins partiellement interconnectée, comprenant une matrice inorganique en un géopolymère microporeux et mésoporeux, dans laquelle sont définis des macropores ouverts au moins partiellement interconnectés délimités par des parois ou murs en géopolymère microporeux et mésoporeux, et des particules d’au moins un composé solide distinct du géopolymère étant réparties dans les macropores et/ou dans les parois ou murs. Procédé de préparation dudit matériau. Procédé pour séparer au moins un cation de métal ou de métalloïde à partir d’un milieu liquide le contenant, dans lequel on met en contact ledit milieu liquide avec ledit matériau.
