Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de séparation d’acide lévulinique à partir d'une composition comprenant de l'acide lévulinique et des humines dans lequel on soumet ladite composition à une étape de séparation thermique en présence d’un fluxant ayant un point d’ébullition supérieur à celui de l’acide lévulinique de manière à obtenir une fraction légère contenant l’acide lévulinique et une fraction lourde contenant les humines et ledit fluxant. La présence d’un fluxant permet de réduire la viscosité des humines et d’augmenter le taux de récupération de l’acide lévulinique.
