Abstract

1,066,936. Pipe couplings. BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 5, 1966 [April 9, 1965], No. 15273/65. Heading F2G. Spigot - and - socket members 12, 11 are provided with grooves 20, 25 which register when the spigot is assembled in the socket and the latter has four holes spaced at 90 degrees intervals around the periphery thereof and which break into the groove 25. The arms 17 of a removable U-shaped member and of square, hexagonal or circular section are inserted into any two adjacent holes 17 to extend chordwise of the members 11, 12 and in the registering grooves 20, 25. Shoulders 21, 22 form locating means for the spigot and socket, and an 0-ring 15 is accommodated in a groove 16 in either the spigot or the socket.
