[Also in Division F2] A vehicle suspension strut includes a helical spring 23 and a single tube telescopic hydraulic damper incorporating an air or gas spring 18. The gas space of spring 18 is at the bottom of the cylinder 10 and is separated from the hydraulic medium by a piston 17 or a rolling diaphragm, and the top of the cylinder includes a hollow cylindrical spacer 19 to limit extension of the unit and reduce the liquid volume.
