A contraceptive appliance comprises a onepiece membraneous and transparent elastic unit (a, Fig. 1, not shown) shaped as a pair of brief pants and to be worn during intercourse by the woman over the lower part of the body so as to prevent dermic contact between the partners, .the unit being formed at its crutch with an integral sheath portion (b) which covers the male organ during penetration, which is invertable, and which is formed with bellows-like folds.
