Abstract

1,202,995. Cupping metal foil. G. KAUPERT. 12 Aug., 1968 [22 Aug., 1967], No. 38418/68. Heading B6J. A line of cups is moulded into a thin metal strip 11a as the latter is advanced intermittently between a series of female moulds 1, 2, 3 and male moulds 4, 5, 8, 14. The moulds 1, 4 produce a deep cup as shown, and this crinkled by the mould 2 which has an irregular shape including a projection 6. The mould pairs 3, 8 produce a further moulding effect, and the moulds 14 are overlaid with a moulded plastic foil 11b, which is caused to adhere to the foil 11a at the portions between the moulds, the resulting cups being smooth inside and decoratively crinkled outside.
