Abstract

1,237,183. Disengageable belt gearing. MASSEY-FERGUSON G.m.b.H. 3 April, 1970 [13 May, 1969], No. 15815/70. Headings F2L and F2Q. A disengageable belt drive for a combine harvester comprises a belt 23 passing round driving and driven pulleys 31, 33 having their axes at different levels, a support rail 32 adjacent the lower face of the lower run of the belt, and a jockey roller 11 movable between a belt tensioning position I and a slack belt position II, in both of which positions it is held by an overcentre spring, movement of the roller 11 to the belt-slack position causing movement of an arcuate plate 29 from a position I clear of the belt to a position II in which it engages the inner face of the belt to hold the belt clear of the pulley 31. The jockey roller 11 is mounted on an arm 12 movable about a fixed pivot 10 and connected by a link 15 to an arm 16 secured to a shaft 19. A second arm 16 parallel to the first and secured to the shaft 19 is connected by a rod 21 to a hand lever 22. An arm (17) (Fig. 2, not shown) secured to shaft 19 is pivoted to an over-centre spring strut (25). An arm 26 secured to shaft 19 is connected by a rod 27 to an arm 28 carrying the arcuate plate 29 and pivoted about the shaft 30 of the pulley 31.
