Abstract

A method of manufacturing a mould having an annular moulding cavity comprises packing a half cylindrical shell with epoxide resin putty, forcing a former having a semi-annular shape into the putty to form one half of the required cavity, heating the shell, putty and former to cure the putty, and removing the shell and former, thereby providing one mould half. A second mould half is similarly formed and the two halves joined e.g. by clips; such a mould may be used for injection moulding thermoplastic material to seal a cable joint.
